360 Security ensures that nothing malicious lurks in the web or download files. It can block access to suspicious websites, check the history of your browser, track how much data you use and even track down the phone you’ve lost.
The suite also comes with an firewall, a shredder of data and scheduled tools for system cleaning. It will automatically update drivers, has anti-tracking features and even gives you access to privileged technical support access by a single click.
The interface of the program is easy and easy to use, even though there are plenty of options and settings. The majority of things are controlled via the large buttons, switches or checkmark, which is great for ergonomics. The program is available on both Windows and Mac, and it’s free to use (ad-supported).
The antivirus does a decent job of securing your PC from malware. Its real-time protection is able to detect more than 90% of threats and it didn’t cause any false positives in my tests. It doesn’t provide the same quality of detection as the other top products when it comes to scans and heuristics.
360 Total Security offers a number of additional security and maintenance options as well as a VPN one of which is only available in the premium version. Its heuristic engine can detect malware by analyzing a program’s behavior. This can be quite useful in cases where the threat is brand new and doesn’t have a signature yet. The program also has an “cleanup” utility as well as other tools to tune-up that can help improve PC performance.
